WHY INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM IS VITAL IN REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY

Some people may think that it takes a really great sales person to be a good realtor, even a great one. Some attest that success is fuelled by courage. Perhaps, good communication and technology skills? The ability to manage time well?  Treating it like a sport?  Well of course you should definitely be a “people person,” they say. While none of these answers are technically wrong, the best asset a Realtor has in business is Integrity and Professionalism.

Integrity

Having Integrity takes you from being the person people have to question, to being the one that everyone trusts without a doubt. For us to dive deeper into the question on why integrity is a vital asset for a realtor we’ll have to analyse the top three components of integrity: honesty, conscientiousness and principle.

Honesty

To be truthful, just, positive, straightforward, this facet of moral character seems quite self explanatory when conducting business.

Making the biggest purchase of your life for some involves a fair deal of trust. Why would you put your faith in a crook or a thief?

Any intelligent person would tell you they absolutely won’t. When it comes to real estate sales there are so many potential unknowns with properties, and a handful of ways to “get the deal done quick.”

Being an honest-to-goodness Realtor not only will help make great first impressions with clients but will also help to connect to clients on a deeper level.  With honesty comes trust, and with trust comes lifelong connections, and to some extent friendship.

Here at House of Stones we have qualified real estate professionals, who value honesty as the main component of doing business. We thrive to create a lifelong relationship with our clients.

Conscientiousness

It is so important to be conscientious with clients, because this is one of those traits that, if not handled well, people will see right through the agent. One of the biggest factors to help make sure that one is conscientious is to be sincere, show diligence and to truthfully take clients seriously. Attitude is everything and keeping work organized, efficient and positive shows you have the ability to care and follow through on your work responsibly.

Principle

This is the foundation of belief systems, and there are a general set of good morals and ethics that are required when we talk about integrity. For starters, only thinking about the bottom line, and making a sale would not be a good principle of business. On the other hand, having clients’ absolute best interests at heart, would be. A few extra examples of ways to ensure integrity is at the top of the game may be something as simple as listening to clients' needs and truly understanding their expectations.

Professionalism

Being a professional encompasses knowing what should be done and how to do it well, offering an exceptional customer experience, putting sellers' and buyers' needs ahead of your own and continuing to add value and build your relationships after the sale is over. Professionalism is very essential in real estate as it smoothens the processes involved and guides the legal know how of the agent. These are some of the attributes of the professional real estate agents, such as those that are at our roaster here at House of Stones Properties;

Professional Real Estate Agents Are Knowledgeable

Professional real estate agents should be well-rounded in terms of the knowledge they present, offering expertise that the average person would not have access to. At the same time, it is essential to communicate these new ideas clearly without using easily misunderstood jargon. Professionals make it easy to understand them from beginning to end. Of course, it is also sometimes about when you communicate, not how. If you are going to be late or must cancel an appointment, getting in touch with clients is essential. This courtesy goes a long way when you are dealing with people trying to buy or sell a home. The more honest you are, the better.

Professional Real Estate Agents Follow a Code of Conduct

Trust is an essential component of working as any type of real estate agent, and it leads to so much more than customer satisfaction. A code of conduct ensures that clients trust you. For instance, you never want to allow access to property unaccompanied. You also want to treat all pets living in a home with care, never allowing them to escape. Real estate agents announce themselves and do not appear unexpectedly. This is all part of showing courtesy to buyers and sellers. Essentially, a real estate agent’s code of conduct boils down to one thing: treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Professional Real Estate Agents Deliver

Success accompanies professionalism every step of the way for real estate agents. Being professional moreover it entitles that the agent has a strong academic and experience of real estate, more prominently on the steps involved in acquiring and disposing of the property.

Real estate agents should also strive towards professionalism in the office too. They don’t make promises to their bosses and clients that they can’t keep. They follow the regulations of Estate Council and government rules, licence and other required paperwork will always be up to date.
